These textures can be found very easily on Dolphin's official forums and make all the text (files, UI, subtitles, map, inventory screen and portraits) HD friendly. Gamecube is also the only version which lets you skip in-game cut-scenes, and finally you can use easy to apply custom textures via Dolphin to improve all text/UI elements.

Dolphin and it's hooks also add some really good smoothing options for 2D elements (Re: all the backgrounds) which make it the most passable version visually for me. I recommend Gamecube version because it's the easiest and most stable one to emulate without any kind of texture warping or garbage effects via Dolphin. N64 has some unique things which you won't find in any other model (blood color, EX files etc). Sourcenext PC has the highest quality FMV's but from what I understand it only runs in a window (might be wrong)ĭreamcast has the VMU which shows menu options in real time (health, ammo) and higher resolution mode (for characters), the backgrounds look the same. There are other technically better versions. In my personal experience, Gamecube is the best one.
